El Rol del Perro en Personas con Trastorno de Estrés Postraumático.

En el último siglo se ha producido un gran auge en el uso de perros de asistencia de forma combinada con tratamientos convencionales para producir efectos terapéuticos a nivel biológico, psicológico y social, en personas con enfermedades mentales como el trastorno de estrés postraumático (TEPT). El objetivo del presente artículo ha sido llevar a cabo una revisión de literatura sobre la utilización de caninos en dicha afectación, a fin de comprender sus aportes potenciales. Se examinaron 57 referencias bibliográficas a través del enfoque de las recomendaciones de PRISMA, teniendo como resultados de dicho análisis la evidencia de contribución positiva en dicha alteración siendo algunos de los beneficios más destacados el control o reducción de la sintomatología, y mejoría en las relaciones interpersonales. Se resalta que puede variar según el caso, el abordaje que se la ha realizado y el entrenamiento del canino.
