Synopsis

In the complex task of transforming an Institution such as the Colombian National Police, the work and contribution that the investigation must develop is vital; Under this consideration, the institutional need arises to determine the causes for which the Uniformed Personnel is requesting the voluntary retirement of the Institution.

For this, a descriptive, non-experimental, transactional approach was developed, which gives shape to a directed basic research that makes use of the mixed approach to build several elements: a theoretical approach to the understanding of voluntary retirement from the concept of personnel management, a state of the art of the last five years in reference to the causes of voluntary retirement in the Colombian National Police and some recommendations so that those who are the decision makers consider their potential implementation; the foregoing derived from the data collected with uniformed personnel in three categories of the institutional hierarchy, which gave rise to: population characterization, measurement of perception of personnel management through the use of a Likert Scale and identification itself of the causes of voluntary retirement.
