Synopsis

In the first phase of the project, the state of the art was sought. The objective was to design the plans and the future manufacture of the prototype bench support for the transport and storage of the Lycoming engine of the Cessna 152 and 172 aircraft at the Mariquita Anti-Narcotics Aviation Company of the Colombian National Police, the purpose of this project was to improve operational safety, occupational safety and health, and the necessary and inherent conditions for the work, personal and individual development of the human component. After its manufacture and resistance tests, the need to execute a second phase of institutional research was identified, which was carried out in three stages: in the first stage, a background review was made to obtain the information that ratified the problem. In the second stage, the research instruments were applied. In the final stage, a redesign of the prototype was carried out based on the tests carried out so that these new modifications would meet the expectations for its proper operation. Results revealed it is necessary to perform the necessary number of tests to improve the support bench so that it can be considered an essential and safe tool for the maintenance process of the Lycoming engine of the Cessna 152 and 172 aircraft at Mariquita Anti-Narcotics Aviation Company, to avoid work accidents and contribute to operational safety.
