Synopsis

The aim of this research is to design an early warning protocol for examinees who admit to behaviors of sexual violence during the polygraph interview. The methodology used is of mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative) and is based on the interpretative paradigm through the descriptive and hermeneutic methods. The method takes into account the application and analysis of the different existing protocols such as the protocol for comprehensive care of victims of sexual violence, the protocol for care of child and adolescent victims of sexual violence, the protocol for the investigation of sexual crimes and the protocol for the prevention of child sexual abuse. As a result, it was found that the various intersectoral protocols focus on the identification of sexual offenders and comprehensive care for victims. However, the protocols have in common the need to prevent abuse through strategies in areas such as the family and society. In addition, the protocol to be proposed should focus on confidentiality and respect for human rights, as well as the need to implement mechanisms with trained personnel and complement other protocols and investigative tools to ensure the protection of society and the effective prevention of sexual crimes. It is concluded that the protocol for early warning of overt behaviors related to sex crimes in polygraph examinations is necessary to guide the institutional command in decision making based on the early identification and prevention of sex crimes.
