Strengthening police competences, a strategy from police education
Synopsis
The objective of this work is to design a significant learning strategy in police leadership, through the identification and evaluation of the current academic situation of the training process in the schools of the Police Education Directorate, for the improvement of the public police service. In order to propose a strategy, a prior documentary consultation was necessary to broaden the conceptualization of leadership, meaningful learning and its relationship with the police educational system, the characteristics of the police pedagogical model with an educational approach by competencies, transversal competencies to the talent management model. and institutional culture and the shortcomings detected in the results of the police skills test of the 2012022 call. Likewise, to detect the impact of significant learning strategies immersed in the programmatic contents of the Professional Technical Program in Police Service (TPSP) by through documentary analysis of institutional contents and interviews with a population sample of teachers and students of the Eduardo Cuevas García Police School. As a result, a practical guide of techniques for the police teaching exercise focused on assertively managing the student's competences is proposed, from the natural practice of the teacher in the classroom.
