The culture of Science, Technology and Innovation at the Carlos Eugenio Restrepo Police School
Synopsis
This chapter of the book, the result of research, analyzes the elements that make up the Institutional System of Science, Technology and Innovation SICTI of the Colombian National Police and its development at the Carlos Eugenio Restrepo ESCER Police School, located in the municipality of La Estrella (Antioquia). In this way, practices and strategies of the police training center were identified to promote culture and investigative skills, as well as the articulation of the substantive processes of higher education, such as teaching, social projection and research. At the same time, an answer was given to the question: How to promote and promote the culture of SICTI in ESCER? delving into emerging aspects of the project, such as the importance of academic publications and the visibility of the products made in the investigative exercise.
These efforts are insufficient given the particularities of the measurement model of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, specifically in the function performed by the scientific research groups that make up the Colombian National Police. The mixed, exploratory, documentary, field methodology was applied. Finally, good practices are offered for strengthening the ecosystem of the Institutional System of Science, Technology and Innovation.
