Synopsis
The use of simulators to empower success in experiential learning has been of significant importance in today’s higher education scenario. The objective was to establish the significant experiential learning and the incidence of virtual simulators used with the student staff of the General Francisco de Paula Santander Police School (ECSAN). Regarding the methodology, the approach was qualitative, the type of research was exploratory and documentary. A questionnaire was applied in Google Forms which was sent to the entire community of students who have a close relationship with the use of simulators in the school, so that they could fill in the required information. The target population of the research was 272 students corresponding to 3 companies who receive classes supported by the simulators. In conclusion, the use of virtual simulation in the ECSAN responds to the paradigms established by the knowledge society in terms of technological innovation in virtual reality and its support to educational learning scenarios in order to meet the new challenges faced by the National Police of Colombia (PNC), with respect to its transformational educational processes.
