Approach to didactics applied in virtual learning scenarios for police education

Synopsis

This chapter presents the outcomes of a research project that aimed to examine the teaching practices of police instructors in virtual learning environments. The study employed a descriptive approach and conducted a qualitative analysis of the data collected through techniques such as document review, surveys, and expert consultations. The participants included teachers from the General Francisco de Paula Santander Police Cadet School, as well as pedagogues, police professionals, and external academics. The key findings highlighted the necessity of establishing guidelines for specialized police teaching methods in virtual learning environments. Additionally, the development of digital skills among police instructors was identified as a crucial factor for effective teaching in police schools. Ultimately, it was concluded that the appropriate integration of information and communication technologies inpolice education significantly contributes to the transformation process of the
National Police and the continuous enhancement of police services.
