Resumo

Insuficiência pancreática exócrina é uma síndroma caracterizada pela má digestão e má absorção resultada da falha da secreção de enzimas pancreáticas e outras substâncias que facilitam a absorção de nutrientes dietéticos e certas vitaminas e sais minerais necessárias para a digestão normal dos alimentos. O objetivo do tratamento é a substituição das enzimas pancreáticas por extractos enzimáticos orais quando os sinais clínicos aparecem, o qual consiste na suplementação de enzima com cada refeição. Em cães alcançou a actividade mais elevada de enzima no duodeno, sem suplementos de revestimento entérico, incluindo enzimas pancreáticas em bruto cortada ou pulverizada. Esta revisão tem como objetivo atualizar la insuficiência pancreática exócrina em cães, que trata da etiologia, fisiopatologia, história, sinais clínicos, diagnóstico diferencial, seqüelas, diagnóstico, tratamento, prognóstico e falhas de tratamento.
